From a Sista’s Point of View
When I asked if he loved me,
He just sits there and stares,
And just ignores me like I’m not even there,
Then he’ll get mad if I tell him we’re through,
But he just thinks I’m stupid seeing this from a sista’s point of view.
This is an expression,
Just do what you do,
But some sistas not gon let you charge some dollars for your FUBU,
Some got jobs and expect you to have a job too,
Then you can buy your own clothes,
Instead of depending on a woman to buy for you.
Sistas don’t like brothas to play with their minds and souls,
But they don’t care ’cause they think they got you under control,
Some brothas like the sistas that bow down at their toes,
And when you don’t do it, they wanna throw ’em bows,
Then get all scared when you threaten to call the po-pos.
If they say it from a sista’s point of view,
We wouldn’t be blaming the brothas for what they do,
We just want the same respect as you,
The world would be a lot better,
If they saw it from a sista’s point of view.
A Sista Not Sure of Love
This is a guy that is the center of my dreams,
I get so nervous he makes me say crazy things,
When he asked me out, I didn’t know what to do,
I didn’t think he had the heart to ever be true,
I don’t know if he means it when he says, “I love you,”
Then I thought about the relationships in the past,
With all my experience, I didn’t think it was going to last,
Then I realized the months you chased me around,
Sometimes I got aggravated ’cause you act like a clown,
I did say I wanted to be just friends,
Now that I know for sure that you are true,
I just must reconsider being with you.
